Adobe Encore DVD 2.0 - Overview

Concepts:

The chapters in the Encore text are not numbered. This discussion is about pages 1 through 74, which is actually six named chapters.

Because the text was written for Encore DVD 2.0, and our lab uses Encore CS3, we will encounter differences between the book and hands-on reality. These versions are only one version apart, so the differences will not be extreme.

We will take the approach of looking for ideas in the text, then confirming whether the porcedures are the same or different in the software. In the menu for the class, I have given you a link to the Adobe Video Workshop, a series of lessons about many of their products. There are nine lessons about Encore CS3. Use this source material to get ideas for your portfolio DVD, as well as instructions for using Adobe's ideas.

Assignment: Workflow and Storyboard

1. Play the Encore CS3 tutorial called Understanding the Encore workflow
2. Compare the tutorial to the associated material in your text
3. Make notes of the similarities and differences between the text and the video.
4. Assume you are going to have a presentation like this in your portfolio. Make a storyboard for it, using material you are planning to put in the portfolio. Turn in a copy of the storyboard next week.
